WNCAHU Members and NCAHU
Whether you celebrate Chanukah (12/18), or Christmas (12/25), or Kwanzaa (12/26), I wish you, my NCAHU family, light, inner peace, good health, friendship, and love.
I am excited to serve as President of our WNCAHU chapter through June 2024. For those of you who do not know me, this is my second go round as President of our Chapter. In addition, I served as Education Chair for NCAHU, and was appointed to a Special State Committee by then Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin.
The first quarter of 2023 is set for a fantastic start; our agenda is robust. Our first membership meeting will begin at 4:15pm SHARP, Thursday, January 19th at Posana Restaurant downtown Asheville. Our guest speaker will be Bill Hathaway, MD, CEO of MAHEC. Dr. Hathaway’s topic will be Introduction to MAHEC and healthcare in Western NC. A social hour will follow and dinner for those who wish to make reservations.
February will be our first Community Project Day. The exact date will be announced soon. The event will take place at Loving Food Resources in Asheville. Thursday March 23rd will mark our Continuing Education Day with 3 credits available. We will begin at 1:00pm SHARP at The Doubletree Hotel, Hendersonville Road, Asheville. Further details will follow.
I want to thank Kimberly Spell for accepting the new position of Legislative Liaison to our Board. As past President and neutral party, her duties will be to step in and assist should any overwhelming challenges face our decisions as a Board regarding leadership and other matters. I also want to thank our past and new sponsors for partnering with us. Harry’s On The Hill, Groce Funeral Home, Carolina Ophthalmology, Strada/Gemelli, FIRC Group (Haywood Park Hotel, Cambria Hotel, Country Suites Hotel), Bohemian Hotel, Advent Health, Posana Restaurant, Doubletree Hotel, Carolina Mountain Pharmacy, and Food Lion West Ridge.
I encourage all to invite your clients and guests to our events. Please make reservations early to ensure great attendance.
Thank you in advance for your support!
With energy and enthusiasm,
